WordPress 2.2

WordPress 2.2 “Getz” is out. I’ll be testing it out on our development site shortly, but if any brave souls want to try it out in the meantime do let us know how it goes!

I should probably mention that I’ve got the latest version of Tarski running just fine on WP trunk (currently at 2.3-alpha). Upgrading from 2.1 to 2.2, and from 2.2 to 2.3 won’t be like the 2.0 to 2.1 transition was: our code is much more stable than it was then, and there are fewer changes of the kind that might force us to rewrite it.

I’ve had no problems with WP 2.2 and Tarski 1.4. I had to turn the widgetized sidebar back on after uploading WP2.2. Other than that, the upgrade was smooth. Quite unlike 2.1 in that regard. :)

I upgraded from 2.1.3 to 2.2 tonight, and I’m still using Tarski 1.2.5 (with a custom CSS stylesheet).

Everything seems to work fine, although my widgets and additions are pretty vanilla.

Tarski 1.2.5? The horror! The horror! :-p

No problem at all. Everything is OK after upgrading.

After upgrading, my “lighbox js” library is not working with Firefox Paraiso Alpha 4 (Look Apple Desktop image) .
It works again with Safari. The browser tell me that there is an error in tarski/style.css after the line 83.

That’s the clearfix stuff, it’s basically a hack (I would dearly like to replace it should a viable alternative become available). Shouldn’t be interfering with Lightbox though.

I customized the main CSS sheet, so upgrading every time you guys come up with a new version would be a major hassle for me. I’m happy with 1.2.5 - it seems to be stable enough for me… [knocks on the nearest wooden object]

BTW: Thank you for coming up with such a great WP theme.

Tom, I also had problems with the lightbox plugin. I wasn’t able to find a quick and easy solution, but I’d be willing to take another look at it.

Thanks a lot for the quickly answer, I would like to underline three things:
1. I use only Mac OS X
2. Everythings work with Safari. I have problems only with Firefox
3. It will be better to resolve this use because lightbox is a wide used plugin for wordpress :)
Bye
Tom

I will put it in our issues list so we remember to take a look at it.

Could you link me to the specific lightbox plugin you’re having trouble with? There are a couple different ones. Thanks.

I use slightbox ( http://www.oscandy.com/wordpress/28-wordpress-plugin-slightbox ) which a simple and useful plug-in based on LightboxJS .

Upgrading to WP 2.2 broke my LightBox too.

I switched my layout to Tarski after upgrading to 2.2 because it seems you guys actually care about the layout and keeping it compatible, rather than just creating one and then working on the next and so on and so forth until you have 400 layouts and not one of them works well with the latest Wordpress.

In other words, thanks!

Sara: letting people keep (and modify) a theme they like, and we like, across revisions (both of WordPress and of Tarski) is something we think’s quite important, and it’s always great to have that attitude reinforced by positive feedback.

To those who’ve had problems with Lightbox, both versions listed on the recommended plugins page are working fine for me with WP 2.2 and Tarski 1.4 (trunk). I suggest making sure you have the latest version of the plugin you’re using, as they may have been updated to become compatible with the latest version of WordPress (this one was last updated on the 23rd of May). If you’re still having problems after that, please post on the forum and we’ll do what we can to get it sorted.

Hi, I tried Tarski and now I can’t change it to other ones.
The main page still stays the same as Tarski and doesnt even show my latest post……
werid….

plz tell me what to do….thx

You’ll need to post on the WordPress.com forums; we can’t help you with WP.com problems as we’re not part of Automattic, the company that runs them.

thanks a lot :)
