CSIR-UGC (NET) EXAM FOR AWARD OF JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP AND ELIGIBILITY FOR LECTURERSHIP

CSIR-UGC NET Exam for Science stream is conducted by CSIR in the following areas : -

4. Mathematical Sciences
5. Physical Sciences

Pattern for each Subject:

CHEMICAL SCIENCES : TIME: 3 HOURS, MAXIMUM MARKS: 200

CSIR-UGC (NET) Exam for Award of Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lecturership shall be a Single Paper Test having Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The question paper is divided into three parts

Part 'A' : This carry 20 questions. Answer any 15 questions. Each question of two marks. Total Marks 30 out of 200.
Part 'B : This contains 50 Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs). Answer any 35 questions. Each question of two marks. Total Marks 70 out of 200.
Part 'C' : This contains 75 questions. Answer any 25 questions. Each question of four marks. Total Marks 100 out of 200.

* There will be negative marking @25% for each wrong answer.

EARTH, ATMOSPHERIC, OCEAN AND PLANETARY SCIENCES : TIME: 3 HOURS, MAXIMUM MARKS: 200

Part 'A' : 20 questions, required to answer only 15 questions.
Part 'B' : Contains 50 Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs). Answer any 35 questions. Each question of two marks. Total Marks 70 out of 200.
Part 'C' : Contains 80 questions. Answer any 25 questions. Each question of 4 marks. Total Marks 100 out of 200.

* For Part ‘A’ and ‘B’ there will be Negative marking @25% for each wrong answer. The Negative marking for Part ‘C’ @ 33% for each wrong answer.

LIFE SCIENCES : TIME: 3 HOURS, MAXIMUM MARKS: 200

Part 'A' : 20 questions, required to answer only 15 questions.
Part 'B' : Contains 50 Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs). Answer any 35 questions. Each questions of two marks. Total Marks 70 out of 200.
Part 'C' : Contains 75 questions. Answer any 25 questions. Each question of four marks. Total Marks 100 out of 200.

* There will be negative marking @25% for each wrong answer.

MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES : TIME: 3 HOURS, MAXIMUM MARKS: 200

Part 'A' : 20 questions, required to answer only 15 questions.
Part 'B' : Contains 40 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). It's required to answer any 25 questions. Each question of three marks. Total Marks 75 out of 200.
Part 'C' : Contains 60 questions. It's required to answer any 20 questions. Each question of 4.75 marks. Total Marks 95 out of 200.

* For Part ‘A’ and ‘B’ there will be Negative marking @25% for each wrong answer. No Negative marking for Part ‘C’.

PHYSICAL SCIENCES : TIME: 3 HOURS, MAXIMUM MARKS: 200
Part 'A' : 20 questions, required to answer only 15 questions.
Part 'B' : Contains 25 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) generally covering the topics given in the Part ‘A’ (CORE) of a syllabus. Each question of 3.5 Marks. Total Marks 70 out of 200. Answer any 20 questions.
Part 'C' : Contains 30 questions from Part ‘B’ (Advanced) and Part ‘A’. Answer any 20. Each question of 5 Marks. Total Marks 100 out of 200.
