This app, comes totally FREE and only in a standard version, offering full access to all it’s functionality right from the beginning and it’s database can be customized by it’s user. As preinstalled database, it's include a small demo database with only 5 records; which offers a full image about what this app can do, letting the user to chose which step to take further. From the preferences page, every user can chose from 2 bigger database (a smaller database which includes records with full descriptions (116 species on 01.02.2016, of about 32Mb data) and a bigger database with all current records (2031 species on 23.11.2016, of about 500Mb data)).
Ciupercomania’s goal is to cover as many of the World’s wide mushroom species, sorting them by many parameters and offering information about them in 3 languages: ENGLISH, ROMANIAN and HUNGARIAN.
As an app, offers the standard functionality: free browsing; search by name or part of it; filter by parameters; favorites marking and browsing; database maintenance; language select and a basic help regarding mushroom morphology.
Every records are syncronized with IndexFungorum at the time of it’s entry registration and comes with a high quality zoomable image slide; a set of icon badges (related to the species edibility, medicinal properties, spore mass color, occurrence and it’s state of protection (Red list listing).
Known issues:
The biggest database once installed, it has a more than 500 Mb; and due to it’s size, on older phones or tablets require longer loading times. In such cases, crash reports can pop up requesting more time to wait… if your device is not the ultimate acquisition, you can encounter even 2-3 or more such cycles till database are loaded on your device. The same issue appear when you recall your favorite list. Be patient till you can use these information, because the quality and quantity of provided information can compensate your waiting time.
