About NDFN:
National Federation of the Deaf Nepal (NDFN) was established as an umbrella organization for the rights and development of deaf people in Nepal in 1995. 38 local district Deaf associations are affiliated yet. NDFN is a member of World Federation of the Deaf and World Federation of the Deaf Regional Secretariat Asia.
Means of communication and access to information for Deaf people is only through visual language known as sign Language. Development and dissemination of NSL is one of the major activities of NDFN. NDFN has been advocating for the deaf rights in policy level, collecting signs of NSL, developing and disseminating of NSL, formation and capacity building of local deaf associations, right to interpreter service of deaf people, leadership, awareness and advocacy for the rights, social equality and discrimination free deaf community in Nepal.
About the APP :
In this mode age of technology, NDFN has planned to prepare the mobile apps for the NSL learners. In first phase NDFN has developed primary level APPs namely as Deaf Nepal NSL Learning. Latest use of APPs in technology will ease and increase access and outreach of deaf people, their families and communities to NSL.NDFN believes this Deaf Nepal NSL Learning Apps will contribute in easy access and learning of NSL to deaf people and hearing people who want to learn Nepali Sign Language (NSL) and become friend with deaf people.
