Contact Alert is a small application used to set custom notification sounds for specific contacts on stock Android and other versions that do not natively support it.

- Disable notification sounds in your messenger application (Otherwise, this notification will play with the custom notification(s))
- Load Contact Alert, click the contacts you want to have a custom notification sound for, and select a notification
- Set a default notification sound for contacts without custom notification
From there, Contact Alert will monitor incoming SMS or MMS messages and play the respective sound you selected for the contact that sent the message, or the default notification if none was set for that contact.
Explanation of Permissions:
- Receive/Read SMS/MMS: Used to get the phone number of incoming messages to determine which contact the message came from. Message content is NOT read.
- Read Contacts: Used to list contacts and match SMS/MMS phone numbers with a contact to determine which notification to play.
- Read External Media: Used to read notification tone names and display them within the application.
- Internet/Network State: Used for advertising and analytics.
Limitations:
- Only supports notifications via SMS and MMS.
- You can only set notifications for users with phone numbers.
- Currently sets notifications by contact, so you can't have different tones per phone number without splitting the contact apart.
